Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone who needs the information on it. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines guide how it is built.

How this site is built

  • Semantic headings and landmarks, with one main heading per page.
  • A skip-to-content link as the first focusable element on every page.
  • Visible focus indicators on links, buttons and other controls.
  • Keyboard operation for the menu, the project filters and every control.
  • Text alternatives for images that carry meaning, and empty alternatives for decorative ones.
  • Colors chosen for readable contrast against their backgrounds.
  • Respect for the operating system reduced-motion preference.
  • Full page content in the served HTML, so every page reads without client-side scripting.
  • The capability statement is a readable, printable web page rather than a downloadable document.
