My post contLast week, CULTIVA Global Solutions had the privilege of attending a truly inspiring evening as the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition marked 30 years of impact at its 2025 Tribute Awards.
The event brought together top officials from the Administration, three U.S. Senators, and leaders from USGLC’s nationwide community. In today’s polarized environment, it was especially meaningful to witness Republican and Democratic leaders share the same stage in Washington around a shared commitment to American global leadership. It was one of the most bipartisan gatherings many of us have seen in recent years.
Honoring indispensable American communities
The evening paid tribute to three USGLC networks whose leadership and service strengthen America’s role in the world:
Farmers for Prosperity, recognized for fostering global stability that keeps America safe at home. The tribute was led by USDA Under Secretary Luke Lindberg, who highlighted the critical role farmers play in global food security and national resilience.
Small Business Leaders, spotlighted by Senator Chris Coons for their role in making America more prosperous at home and stronger abroad, and for the opportunities created through exports and digital trade.
Veterans for Smart Power, honored by Admiral Mike Mullen for their continued service and for standing up for America’s global leadership beyond their time in uniform.
These tributes underscored how agriculture, entrepreneurship, and veteran leadership remain central pillars of U.S. security and prosperity.
A historic leadership moment
One of the most memorable moments of the night was the fireside conversation with Admiral Mike Mullen, as he stepped into his new role as USGLC National Chair. This role had previously been held for more than 15 years by the late General Colin Powell, making the transition a significant milestone for the organization.
Admiral Mullen reflected on global threats, the importance of diplomacy and assistance, and the urgent need for unity within the United States. His message was clear: America’s strength lies not only in military power, but in diplomacy, partnership, and the ability to work together as a nation.
Voices from across government
The Tribute Awards also featured remarks from a wide range of leaders, including senior officials from the State Department, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, the White House Office of Management and Budget, members of Congress, and senior military and diplomatic leaders. Together, their participation reinforced USGLC’s role as a coalition that unites diverse voices in support of American engagement in the world.
CULTIVA extends its appreciation to Liz Schrayer and the entire USGLC team for convening an evening that highlighted collaboration over division and substance over partisanship.
As USGLC looks ahead to its next chapter, the 30th Anniversary Tribute Awards served as a timely reminder that bipartisan leadership, civic engagement, and global responsibility remain essential to America’s future.ent
